| Looking good! Make sure you put a tag or ribbon on the cane. I've been known to accidentally dead head my hips so now I mark them with something bright colored so I can't miss it and mistakenly take off the hip. You won't need to worry about the rodents much until later in the season when it starts to turn color. When that starts to happen I put a little tin foil loosely over them. It seems to have worked to keep them from disappearing over night. |

They've had tin foil on them from the moment I took the pollen sacs off. I only took the foil off for the pic. :) I do need to label them with tape, too though. In case the foil falls off. We don't have squirrels around here. Rats either, that I know of.
I'm excited. I hope I can grow some striped seedlings. |

| Fantastic! I hope it does well for you and lots of pretty babies. Please keep us posted! BTW- I did a cross of Sugar moon x Betty Boop. The hip has started to swell and hasn't turned brown. Is this a sign it took? (my 1st try too) |
