Best Pics of the Year

You guys take such great pictures I figured I'd try to get them in one message for purely selfish reasons......I can't tell you how many roses I've purchased based on a picture I've seen on this forum. So, whatcha got.

    This is NOT my picture but that of a Frenchman that posts a lot of pictures of OGR's on the Hertigae Rose Foundation forum. This is a picture of a rose garden in Normandie, enjoy.

    mgleason....you should post your pic of black beauty on hmf. They don't have any pics of it and yours is beautiful! Is it really that dark of a red? Does it have any fragrance at all?

  • mgleason56
    15 years ago

    aggierose - Done. I put two out there. Yes, it really is that dark but alas, no fragrance that I can detect.

    I got chewed out by De Ruiters for the Latin Lady pic! I sent it to them and gave them a review of how well this was doing in my garden. They wrote me a long email back saying this rose would not grow in the garden (just a florist rose), and i should not be trying to grow this.

    All these gorgeous roses!! I've been reading up on some of them. (Huttnem, we need names, please . . . )

    I can stop trying to pass my iris bud off as a rose because I woke up to some roses this a.m. Ten different kinds, but no real flushes yet. Here are a few:

    William Baffin (covered in buds)
    {{gwi:300739}}

    Dart's Dash

    Gertrude Jekyll (when I could tear my nose away)

    Walkers Low is also in full bloom. There's a rose behind it that will be blooming soon.

  • jont1

    Kentucky Rose I love your Octoberfest picture. I have one that is four years old this year but unfortunately isn't growing very gung ho this year for some reason. Pretty much just a three caner growing straight up with very few blooms.
    Maybe I need to check her for root gall which I had a similar instance with on my Moonstone. I was able to cut the offending appendage off the Moonstone and the following year it jumped right back to life and is a wonderful rose bush to this day.
    Moonstone is one of my favorites anyway.
    I had a similar root gall problem but much more of them and bigger to the point I had to SP a previously beautiful Brides' Dream. I replaced her of course in another section of the garden.
