Soggy soil :P

So far this season it has been VERY wet. So far, 14+" above normal in my area. Coming from S.E. FL., I always saw rain. But I had mostly sand for soil and never had drainage problems. Up here in N.GA. it's a little(?) different. My soil is red clay on solid granite. I live on the side of a hill so most of the time rain water runs off without any problems. Well, with all the rain so far this year my yard is like a huge sponge. Soggy. It is finally starting to take a toll on my roses. I noticed a couple of days ago foliage starting to turn yellow on almost everything. Knowing how important foliage is to my roses, it's just a little "blah" to watch it turn yellow and not be able to do anything about it. The weather man said it is "supposed" to dry up a little this coming week (yeah, right). Normally we get most of our rain during the fall. If that holds true this year my roses are going to pop out of the ground and all the houses in my neighborhood are going to float away. Oh well.
