| I made a couple of new terraces in our main garden and put in a few Iceberg Roses. There is no irrigation just a hose and they are on some shallow fill dirt. Keeping them watered was going to be an issue except:
I found some watering spikes at Harbor Freight Tools, 6 for $3? I think, they have small holes on the spike part that goes 6-8" in the ground, then just any empty soda bottle filled with water and flipped upside down and rested on the spike will create a slow drip system for you. Granted, a bunch of empty soda bottles in your yard is less than pretty, but, they have done a great job keeping the new roses watered. Guessing if you know a big wind is coming up, you would want to pick these up. |
