Ok everyone so now that the dust has settled on my hybridization efforts this year I took a complete and official survey of every single successful cross I've done this year. Note that I had many hip drops as I worked with varying degrees of ploidy level but theses are ONLY the successful fertilizations.I know it's difficult to achieve something great in only one generation but my current seeings are still young so this is what I'm working with. *A cultivar I accidentally discovered after observing 4 different populations of R. bracteata. I found a single plant which differed from other individuals by producing flowers of a truly overwhelming banana fragrance! I was amazed at how much it smelled like banana, even after the blooms had been removed from the plant for 2 days. I understand it's one of the rarest scents in roses so I'm excited about the possibility of carrying this trait forward into my breeding program. I know there is a slight banana fragrance reported by others in this species but as this individual stands out I suspect it's either a mutation, over expression of the gene or genes or just extremely homozygous recessive for banana.

**A sport of Mardi Gras I found that has some striping on the petals and a strange black pepper fragrance.
