Saw my first today on my William Baffin! Dratted beetles!

I saw about a half dozen the past week--and now they all seem to be gone. Not that this area ever suffers from major attacks of Japanese Beetles, but I do worry about whether this time it is the prelude to the attack of the hordes!

At any rate, Kent, I do hope the invasion of your garden is light this year.

Sorry to hear that Kentstar! Hopefully one is all you see.

Saw my first of the year today. Luckily it wasn't in my garden but was at the city rose garden in Manhattan Kansas.

They are here in Louisville,KY. Those little buggers make me crazy! Not many roses blooming now but lots of developing buds. They usually stay until mid August. A real pain. Lesley

They've been here for a couple of weeks. Not much in bloom, so they are eating the foliage. The only roses they haven't touched are my Rugosa's. Clean as a whistle.

Ughh!! They've been here for a couple weeks too. Forgot to check my cherry trees and they just about defoliated 3 of them. Hate them!!!

I had more than I've had in previous years. I hope that isn't a trend. But it was still manageable. They seem to love certain roses, so I would check those and was able to send most of them to JB heaven (or hell).

So far, I don't have JBs, but we do have Chilli Thrips, which can ouright kill the rose, not just gobble up blooms.
