Kockout Changing Color?

I have about a half dozen double pink knockout roses bushes that are about 3 years old. Several days ago, for the first time, one of the plants produced a bright red rose - right next to a normal pink color bloom on the same branch. It appears that another red bud is about to open on that same branch but it's too early to know for sure. Both flowers in the picture are a little past their prime so the colors of both are somewhat washed out but the picture is still good enough to show the noticeable difference. Not sure if pruning practice can cause that but I cut the plants back to about 10-12" last fall and they are about 2' around right now and getting ready for their second full bloom.
Has anyone else experienced this and any thoughts on how this can happen? Mutation or is this something that is not that unusual?

OK - here's teh photo this time (hopefully). I wasn't aware of the file size limitation when I first tried to include the photo.

Double Pink Knockout is a sport or mutation of Double Red Knockout. It is very common for a sport to revert to the original form about 30% of the time. It is also possible for it to sport to a different color such as a mid tone of pink. So, what you're seeing isn't all that unusual. What would be unusual would be if the final color is not either Double Red Knockout or Double Pink Knockout, so keep your eye on the sport. Mark it with colored ribbon or something so it doesn't accidentally get pruned off. Compare it with the other two commercially available forms and see how yours compares. Good luck! Kim

Not unusual and particularly for Knockout - why do you think all the iterations of it arrived so quickly? Seems to sport all kinds of cool stuff. I have a blush pink version and every once in a while a flower will have a single darker red petal. I have it near a Bermuda rose that has white blooms with that same single red streak, and I've been thinking about propagating it, but it's inconsistent and a single cane may simply produce one bloom like that. Too bad, but I enjoy them when they show up.
