One of the shoot is much thicker than the stem.

Looks like very healthy, strong growth to me. Depending on the rose, it could even be much, much redder than that and still be fine.

The thing about a shoot being larger than the underlying stem is far from a 100% tell-tale. I have many roses that do that.

I agree with Tom. Multiple shoots from a site can happen on some modern roses, too. Everything else looks normal.

It's really important to be vigilant about RRD. You SHOULD be suspicious. This one was worth asking about because of the multiple shoots.

Generally very vigorous but healthy growth will start looking more normal within a few days, while RRD growth becomes weirder.
