| I purchased Radiant Perfume bare root in January 2011 from my local nursery. I had seen it potted at their rose field the previous summer, loved the color and fragrance, and made a note to get it the following year. Last year, it grew fine, nothing remarkable or weird... you don't expect perfection in year one. This year however, it has monster tall canes, is really stingy and blows super fast. So I did a search on it, and found two threads about it here from 2009 where folks mentioned the same thing. And some similar negative comments on HMF as well. So I guess my question is: any further comments on it? The color and fragrance are great, but the stingy, fast-blowing and overly tall aspects make me inclined to ditch it. I have ~250 roses, am an experienced rose grower, and feeling ruthless :-D
Thanks so much for any comments to help my decision! Susan |

| I am also kind of ruthless sometimes, but my Radiant Perfume is "out back" where it can't bother me much. It is a very occasional bloomer, but can put out enormous blooms, which means it stays here. |

| I love this rose. My friend Hoovb on the forum suggested I get it and I am so happy I did. It is a HUGE plant. I don't mind that and I have the room. It is as you described, huge monster canes. I put it in a place I need a big plant. I don't find it that stingy with blooms, and while they blow fast in the heat, they last long enough in cooler spring and autumn weather. The smell is very beautiful, and I like to pick it. I got it specifically in the area I want to have roses for cutting for the church. For my situation and in my climate: it's a winner. |

| Thanks Kathy and Jerome for your comments. I'll take Jerome's reference to Hoovb's opinion as a third positive! You've convinced me to keep it for awhile. I'll probably move it to the back yard, where it won't matter that it's 2 feet taller than everyone else in the front yard :-D Susan |
