Ditch find rose :)

Many years ago, I had been travelling along a country road and stopped to admire the arkansana species roses growing in the ditch along a friend's property. It was August and the weather hot and dry and I knew such was bad timing to be digging a rose, anyways I potted the thing up and wasn't surprised when it proceeded to completely die back. Though, in the spring, a strong shoot had appeared at the base of the plant above the soil line, then I waited in anticipation as it soon produced buds. The surprise came when instead of having blooms with four or five petals as observed upon the plant I had dug, I was greeted with these fragrant double little beauties, I had a sport! Yes, there are other double arkansana sports out there, some of which have been named, though it was nice to have this special one of my own. The plant is short and spreading and blooms for an extended period of time on old and new wood.
