Things are slowly coming around. Wasn't about to go digging in the garden during the past 8 wks. This past week has been pretty nice. A little wet but nice. Have a few roses in pots that REALLY needed to get into the garden. Today I started. 2 Louise Estes', 1 Sidone, 1 Barone Prevost (OGR's on the S.side of the house). This week I should be able to get 2 Here's Gert (a very nice surprise this summer), 2 Brinessa, 2 Stainless Steel and 2 Snuffy in the ground. Back in the garden again :)

"Back in the garden again", sounds like a song I used to hear? No? We in Texas are having unbelievably cool weather too for August, just enjoying it while it lasts 'cause we know the heat will be back... Glad you're enjoying!

Well, we're still in misery here in central Fl. It's raining buckets everywhere but here. Our rainy season will be over in a few weeks, and our creek and pond are still low. We need another TS Debby, I guess.

This past week has been cooler here too. Nice gardening weather. Only problem is first I had house guests and then we went up North for the weekend. Didn't get a thing done, lol!

The cool has returned here and plans to stay, at least for the foreseeable future (i.e., the weatherman's 10 day forecast--ha!). Thank goodness! It is actually pleasant to go out there again--accept that those last few weeks of triple-digit heat, I really slacked off and the weeds went wild!!!!!!! So now I'm spending all my time pulling monster weeds. But I did completely clean out a corner where I will be planting my new Edith Wolford irises when they get here. What a good feeling. Kate
Here is a link that might be useful: Edith Wolford iris--isn't she pretty!

Yes, it has been fantastic lately. Cooler, wetter, and less windy. The last time I saw any new growth on Neptune was mid-May. It finally woke up again. Many are remembering that they are not singles, and are showing more than 7 or 8 petals--that's always a plus! I haven't had to take Gatorade intravenously just to stay outside, either. Far, far better now. I wonder if I'll have blooms on Thanksgiving like last year?
