I recently read a pdf by the Denver rose society which claimed many Kordes roses are hardy including Beverly, Buxom Beauty, and Grande Amore (2005?). Is this true?
Follow-Up Postings:

I received a grade 2 plant that didn't flourish and died in a zone 7 winter. Probably this anecdote means nothing, but I didn't replant.
|
The only real way to know is to try it but in looking at it on HMF I see a lot of gardens listed in places like Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York. None of those are exactly warm spots.

Of the three you mentioned, Beverly is reliably cane hardy for me. I haven't tried Buxom Beauty. In general Kordes roses, even the HTs, are a good bet for hardiness in my zone 5. Cynthia

Thanks for the information. I will consider Beverly. I have Folklore which is hardy but lacks fragrance.

I have Beverly (grown in a pot) as a bare root this year. The flowers smell heavenly!!! I don't have anything now, because the hail decimated my roses. But it's really beautiful with a wonderful fragrance. Carol
