Easy Elegance 'High Voltage' care question....

I planted three Easy Elegance series 'High Voltage' bushes in the spring, and I'm not quite sure what to do about the fact that I am getting a couple of canes on each bush that have shot up super high, to like 6 ft tall. they are starting to flop due to the weight. Not all of the canes are this tall, so it's looking pretty uneven. I had these skinny bamboo stakes that I used to stake and tie the canes to so they wouldn't be flopping over, but I want to know if I should be pruning these extra tall canes back to the level of the other canes to make it look and grow better? Their web site says little to no pruning is even required for these plants, so I'm not sure if I need to prune, or just leave them alone and see how they look next year once they've gotten set better.
Thanks.
