Anyone grow this very hardy and disease-free rose? What do you think of it? Shouldn't it be competing with Knockout in commercial landscaping?

Hmm. Strong fragrance, mossed buds, fall color, red hips. Thanks, I hadn't heard of it before. Roses Unlimited lists it.

It's not a tidy rose. It wants to sprawl. Mine could almost be a climber. I have it confined to a tomatoe cage to keep it from throwing long runners. I agree it is hardy and disease resistant. Knock Out's bushy habit makes for a better shaped and nicer appearing bush. It requires less maintenance than Cape Diamond.

I just noticed that Cape Diamond was discussed on the Rose Hybridizer Association (RHA) forum and it's "architecture" didn't exactly get rave reviews.

This is a rose I've been considering growing as a climber/pillar at the end of our driveway. I wanted something pretty, fragrant, and low maintainence that still possesses some character and charm. [Knock Outs tend to bore me, sorry!] Wonder how it would do there, any ideas?

This rose won best of class at a show last year in the Chicago area, I was not there, but friends told me the spray was just awesome, so I got one and looking forward to seeing what it will do this spring....
