| We moved our old roses to our new house this spring, but I overestimated the amount of sunlight they would get. They look just ok, but could use more light. Should I move them this fall or wait until next spring? These are all "sentimental roses" (my deceased gram's, first mother's day, gifts from students) so I really, really don't want to lose them. Thanks for any help |

| In your zone I'd wait for spring. I'm a zone warmer and I have very bad luck with any kind of fall planting. They just don't get enough time to get re-established in the fall before hard winter sets in and they fail to make it on me. Move them in the early spring, as soon as you can dig the soil, even if they're still dormant and they should do fine. They'll come out of dormancy probably not even knowing they were moved. |
