| I purchased a rose that was supposed to be Peter Mayle, but the blooms don't look right...
Is it Yves Piaget?

It looks like what I see from it here. Kim

Doesn't look like either one of them to me. Hmmmm -- is it VERY fragrant? Both of those you named are VERY fragrant here. And neither of them puts out tight clusters like that, at least not here. And Yves Piaget blooms are more cupped when fully open here, also. But then again, you are in NY, where conditions could not possibly be more different. So . . . no idea.

Thank you for the info. It is very fragrant, and the fragrance is really nice. I forgot to mention that in the first pic, the leaf in the lower left corner does not belong to the mystery rose. The leaves for the mystery rose are dark green.

It looks very much like my YP, although it doesn't often have clusters of blooms. The appearance of the flowers is right on, though. Ingrid

Thank you for the help. Looks like I'll need to add Peter Mayle to the Shopping Cart in the autumn rose shopping. LOL

Mine will cluster. Do not skimp on water or fertilizer for Yves. He needs a lot of nutrients to make those big heavy flowers.

Thanks, Hoov, for the tip. Even as a newly planted rose, it seems to repeat well. Even though it's not the rose that I ordered, I think I will be happy with it.

It also looks exactly like my Yves Piaget, a rose I really love. Those big, frilly blooms are so spectacular. Mine was set back badly by most of its roots being eaten by a gopher so it doesn't bloom as heavily as I'd like it to, but even one of those blooms is a gift. Ingrid

Thank you, Ingrid. I'm really looking forward to seeing this rose in bloom next summer. It turned out to be a bit of a happy accident that I got sent the wrong rose, I really like Yves.
