| Does anyone know of a resource for Renaissance roses (that ships to the US)? I see that Hortico has them but unfortunately not the one I want.
Thanks! Di |

| Just a warning - beautiful (fleetingly), great for picking, fragrant.....but the worst roses in my garden, by a long, long way, totally naked with BS and every bloom has rotted in this years rain (although it looks dreadful every year by the end of June). I will be giving up on Phillippa after many years on sufferance since I now have a camera to remind me what a complete and utter disaster this (very tall and vigorous) rose is. Lilana shaping up to be quite as terrible. Truly, the worst roses I have ever had, in terms of disease, balling, ugly growth, refusal to bend in any direction except shooting skywards. I believe Sophia Renaissance may be one of the best of the bunch. |

| Ahh, sounds like my kind of challenge indeed. I'm a glutton for punishment. First, of course I need to find one. Anyone have experience with Renaissance Eleanor? May I assume that European vendors do not ship to the US? Thanks,Di |

| My God - Eleanor is one of the dodgiest of the lot!!! A very pale lilac, right? Also known as Bering Renaissance. In fact all these roses seem to have multiple names. Possibly 3 different for Claire/Liliana/Ghita. Then there is Millie, aka Mum in a Million. OK, do you spray? If so, then these can be great roses, especially if you really want to cut flowers for the house. They seem to be almost impossible to buy in the US but I think Vintage carried Sophia Renaissance (I know Cass Bernstein had one). |

| Well, to make a long story short, the name has to do with a band called Ratdog. If you'd like to come sit in my garden and share a pint someday, I'll tell you the whole story. Yes, I do spray. I've been thinking I want a cutting garden, so maybe Eleanor could live there, if I ever find her. Thanks, |

| It looks like North Creek Farm in Maine carries some of the Renaissance roses, not sure if they have what you're looking for though. |

| Thanks for the tip about North Creek Farm. Looks like an awesome place. Certainly worthy of a road trip. Di |
