As I was rediscovering what I had planted 25 years ago, I found Buff Beauty, one beautiful bloom on top of two healthy canes with a little foliage on the top. It repeat bloomed with two blooms (the deer got one). I decided to cage it and made a 3 foot diameter cage that conforms to the slope. After about 3 weeks, new growth is sprouting everywhere. The deer had been systematically stripping it.
Now it has a chance to thrive.
