I've fallen in love with the many shades of orange, peach, and pink in these climbers. However, my Joseph's Coat is the worst of my roses for black spot (and I've now read enough to learn that this isn't unusual for Joseph's Coat), and Pinata is supposed to be hardy only to zone 6. I'd love to get suggestions for an orange repeat bloomer that's disease resistant in my area. Some shade tolerance would be a bonus. (I know, I know, but I can dream!) Many thanks!

Have you checked out Aloha (the 2003 Kordes version) or Climbing America? Those are 2 off the top of my head that do well in Illinois and are pretty easily available through online nurseries.

I would rethink that Pinanta. My friend in Standish, MI is border line zone 4/5 and she can't kill her Pinata! Her husband ran it over with a lawn mower twice and it came back and has wintered fine for 5 years now. That zone info on HMF is just the default zones they use when they don't have more information. If you look at the "Gardens" tab you'll see that there are a lot of zone 5 gardens growing it.

Look at some of the Buck roses like Honeysweet or Serendipity.
Here is a link that might be useful: Honeysweet
