Peggy Martin Rose

Do Roses really need 8 hrs or more of direct sun to really put out the blooms? The reason I ask is that I Planted Peggy Martin pink rose early last summer and I did put her in a area that only receives dappled sun in the afternoon, she had been in a large pot for two years before that and I could mover her around and she did just OK in the pot. I probably had only 3 or 4 small blooms this year in her new spot. I do have a hot spot that I could put her which is next to the south side of a brick house and I'm pretty sure she would be begging for a cool down if the summer's where like last year 105 plus degress. I could put a panel of 6 foot dog ear fence section in front of her to help shade her and mulching would not be a problem behind the fence section. Would she love the heat , plus 10 hours of pur Heat and Sun from *ell?
