| Passionate Kisses looked wonderful in its five gallon can, well fed and well watered under shade cloth. It has now received morning sun, filtered through other roses and shrubs in a two foot deep planter against the front of the house in Stevenson Ranch, Santa Clarita for the past year. It's healthy, doesn't flower as much as the Icebergs, Julia Child and Pride of Oakland in the same bed. When it is in flower, they don't last very well, aren't nearly the size they were in the can and are a rather hard, orangish pink. It was bright at first, which is what was wanted, but isn't nearly as attractive as it was. The name kind of sold it as that garden also has Sweet Nothings. The homeowner likes those kinds of names, so she was thrilled and still accepts it because the name makes her smile. Kim |

| I grow Centennial Star and Grand Dame. Our climates are so different, that I don't know how much help my experiences will be. Mine are both ownroot and do well. I was very surprised that my tiny Grand Dame twig from Michigan Bulb grew as fast as it did! My Centennial Star came from Northland Rosarium, so that was large upon arrival, as expected. No real problems with either. I'm not too into moderns (except for shrub roses), but these two are both keepers in my opinion. Tammy |
