What is wrong with my KO roses? They have been coming in more of a pink and then they fade to white, almost as if they are bleached out by the sun. I have been getting just a few red ones here and there, but for the most part they are not coming in true to form. I just put these in a few months ago. Should I have fertilized them already. I thought that I was suppose to wait until the fall to do any fertilization, but what do I know? They are in clay soil, facing south, in zone 7b. They are mulched and receive water through a sprinkler system in my beds. I did recently apply some bayer all in one because I noticed some beetle holes in the hydrangeas that are nearby, and wanted to be proactive. Actually, now that I think about it, the red has just started to reappear after the all in one. So maybe a nutrient deficiency?

Pictures would be a big help but there are a couple of possibilities that come immediately to mind. They could be Pink KOs that were mislabeled as red. But, it could just be a matter of the conditions they are growing in as well. Weather, soil and culture can all play a factor in bloom color.

This is our red Double Ko in its Spring flush. Do your red blooms look as red as these in the pic??? Picture of your problem would really help people figure things out for you as Seil mentioned...
