Does anyone have full bush shot pictures of a full blooming bush of Veterans Honor, Firefighter and/or Francis Meilland? I have all three of these roses and I believe they are doing fine, just taking longer than most of my hybrid teas to really decide to bloom, even though all are blooming a little! I love all three of them and would really like to see them with more than just one, two, three or four blooms, just so I can know they actually do exist! TIA

Hi Sara-Ann:
I hear Firefighter is slow to establish, but then takes off in its third year. For nice pics of Firefighter rosebushes, check out this thread...

Sara-Ann: By the way, your photo of Firefighter rose is one of the best depictions of its color that I've seen. This thread made me go looking for it again, then I realized it was yours!

Love the photo.

This is the best full bush shot I can find right now for Veterans' Honor. It tends to grow very upright, tall and narrow.

Thank you so much Jasminerose and Seil. I am re-assured that they will bloom more in the future. They've all been blooming and are healthy, just not like what I'm used to, I'll be patient! Jasminerose, thank you for the compliment, Firefighter is a gorgeous, wonderfully fragrant rose and VH is a great red too, and Francis Meilland is just about perfect, and that's the main reason I want them to bloom more!

My Firefighter is very young and I'm not sure yet how it will handle our hot, humid summers. But the scent of the blooms is to die for. Here is a picture of my Firefighter.

My Francis Meilland rose is a tall shrub rather than a bush. It is at least 6.5ft tall and blooms are sparse. Though when it does bloom, it is so gorgeous and the scent is so nice.

Both Firefighter and Francis Meilland are borderline hardy here in 6B NJ, and mine did not develop into anything worth writing home about. Both have departed my garden, by way of shovel prune. It must be that the weather here does not them to achieve what they can do, but, boy, they were ugly, wimpy plants!
