Gay Princess

Recently acquired Gay Princess to my collection from Roses Unlimited. Although its been in the ground about 2 weeks and is still just a wee baby, it's grown 2-3 inches and has pushed out a lovely, intensely fragrant bloom.

Before I fall in love, has anyone has success with this rose? Worried that I am going to end up being disappointed.

I don't grow it, but that's beautiful! It looks like porcelain...

Good luck with it, it looks nice and healthy.

Is that bred by Eugene S. "Gene" Boerner (1967)?

I found info on that rose at Helpmefind.com
Click on link below...

There is another gay princess (Jan Leenders (1961).)
Not much info on that one....

Here is a link that might be useful: Gay Princess at HMF

@ jim1961: Yep! That's the rose.

@ racin_rose & susan4952: Thank you! Was unsure how the light pink blooms would look after a couple of days because my other lighter colored plants tend to look kinda gross (dirty, faded and blah). But! Not so much here. This rose is extremely fragrant like WOAH!

Will see though how Gay Princess looks next year this time because its only in its infancy. :-) A lot can happen in 12 months.. (will definitely be keeping my fingers crossed!)
