Put an order with K&M Nursery early summer. It was hot and Jim e-mailed me telling me he didn't want to ship until it cooled down a little. No problem on my end. Got busy doing life this summer and forgot about them. Wednesday morning the UPS truck dropped off a box of roses on my front porch while Debbie & I were out. 2 Stadt den Helder's, 1 Lady of the Dawn, 1 Pierrine. Removed everything from their box's and procedded to move everything from their 1 gal pots to 3 gal pots. E-mailed Jim and let him know everything got here in great shape. Also put my fall order in. 3 Elizabeth Taylor's, 2 Louise Este's, 1 Lady of the Dawn, 1 Louisville Lady, 1 Patron. He e-mailed me back and told me I'll have my roses before September is out. Fantastic product, fantastic shipping, fantastic service. If you live in zone 7 I KNOW for a fact you can grow fortuniana root stock roses. I've been here 4 yrs and brought 13 young (3gal) roses with me from SE Fl. I have never lost a rose to root stock failure. Take some time and go over to his web page and look around.

Lucky you! Sounds like you got some real beauties. I've been tempted to give fort. a try here in zone 6. I've been told that if you can get it through it's first winter OK they'll do fine. It's a gamble but I might give it a go since K&M always has something I can't find anywhere else and would love to have!

Gee, it's like having a gardening Xmas in late summer-early fall, isn't it! I always have to wait until early spring.

Enjoy your treasures!

Ken,

Thanks for telling us; it is always helpful to hear who is a good source.
I visited the website. The selection is nice.

If you've been there 4 years now, then you're bound to be approaching a nice fall flush!
Will you show us what Fort can do?

Thanks.

I sure wish someone would offer the varieties he offers on Dr. Huey or even own root. You've got a very nice selection there Ken, and more to come. Louisville Lady is a beautiful color and a nice exhibition bloom form.....Maryl

Everything on this list I've grown in Fl, except Patron. I'm giving Patron a shot because it is fairly new and it is one of Frank's roses. All of his roses have done great for me. No problems with winter tender with his roses. Since I've moved up to N.GA. I REALLY pay attention to winter hardieness.
