I wouldn't have these healthy plants without all of your help. Thank you for making my rose garden what it is. I really appreciate all you have given me over the years.

I wanted to share my Long stemmed Eternal Flame. This new cane starts at the ground and has been growing fast. Right now it is 9',5" to the base of the flower bud. So move over Snooki, you don't need a greenhouse to get tall roses. I could not cut this so I'm just showing it in the garden. You can see I'm not on a step ladder or anything. All my HTs are in stretch mode right now.

This is what you get when you let Papa Meilland grow uncut from a band in a no freeze climate. He is past the height of my eaves now. Sturdy poles behind him keep him from flopping down in the wind. I know people say this rose won't grow but I'm glad I took a chance. I'm letting Chicago Peace do the same thing. They are not compact at all. They are open and sprawling but the number of flowers has been better than the CP I tried to keep shorter. Papa is to the right of PJPII so it's two Papas together making beautiful fragrance.

I love these photos of your giants, kitty. I guess this time of year must be the "stretch" season, even up here. Many of my roses have gone nothing short of berserk in shooting up. Of course in Idaho, it will come to a dead stop when winter arrives. Diane
