I just bought these roses yesterday.
Any feedback is appreciated, especially if your growing them in heat similar to North Texas.

I have Chihuly on fortuniana here in Florida. It gets blackspot, but recovers well. I like all the different expressions of color in it. Sometimes it's pink, yellow, orange, blended, stripped, or a combination based on the weather.

I have high summer temps. Like in the low 100s a lot of the time. CHIHULY does really well. Mine is in a bed that's kind of shaded. The blooms are lovely and mine are almost always striped, but they're random and colorful. The plant stays rather short for me. About 3.5-4ft. LAGERFELD is a pretty rose, sometimes. It's stingy, and gets BS in the spring. The plant grows tall but the blooms are kind of smallish and blow pretty fast. Once in awhile, it will throw off a few really nice blooms tho.

In central Texas i tried Hi Neighbor during the year that included the deadly summer of 2011. I am not sure it ever put on a single new leaf, even with automatic watering. Just slowly, slowly faded away.

I live in hot and humid eastern NC and don't know how similiar my climate is to N. Texas. I planted Hi Neighbor about 5 years ago. What a disappointment. It has remained small with only two or three blooms yearly. The Buck rose, Polonaise, is much better. Though listed as deep pink,it is light red for me.

I've got Hi Neighbor...and the jury is still out for me. I lost one and my current one puts out some big canes and enormous blooms but it is not what I'd call vigorous. I'd agree with sunnnync that Polonaise is good, and another red Buck that is a stronger bush is Bright Melody.

Here is a link that might be useful: Garden Musings blog on Bright Melody

Thanks for the comments. I would like to get Bright Melody as well. I'll have to check out Polonaise.
Large, fragrant magenta/dark rose blooms is what I was hoping for.
