I asked them if they would get more next year and they said they will never be carrying this rose again. I am so upset. Does anyone know where i can get one, or can i buy one from anyone? I want this rose so bad and have been waiting since February for palantine to make this plant available. Please some one help me!!!

| Spoke to Rahel this afternoon. They will not carry this rose again because it is such a poor performer in so many locations. Hard to fulfill their money back guarantee and people who are unhappy with its performance want replacements, refunds, etc Today it sold out by 2:00 am. They get 100 plants and maybe 20 were viable from this order. Bonsai, I am sure you will find one somewhere. |

| Hey susan4952, i saw you had this rose on helpmefind.com and on the forum as well. Is there any way you would be willing to sell me one or maybe a rooted cutting of one. I want this rose with a passion. You must understand... Please!!! |
RE: Osiria rose HELP!!!!!

| I surely understand. I would love u to give u one but this is a very fragile rose. Doubt it would survive a transfer even in best circumstances. |
RE: Osiria rose HELP!!!!!

| But would you think about it, i am asking for is a rooted cutting or an air layered stem. Please! I have no one else to turn to. |

Bonsaimaster1: I'm sure most of the forum members here can understand your passion for roses and I hope you will find your Osiria rose. However, this is not the first thread where you expressed desperation for a rose. The Osiria rose is beautiful, but apparently grows poorly. Perhaps someday a better, similar rose will be bred. Meanwhile, have you seen Fire N Ice? It is not the same red, but it also has a white reverse. |
Here is a link that might be useful: Photo of Fire N Ice on HMF

| Bonsai, check out those other roses. I realize you have your heart set on the one. But if it is such a poor plant, it is probably unlikely to air root, mist root, chip bud or allow for budwood. Even the internet photo had the daylights photoshopped out of it, the other roses would probably do better and more importantly look better because they are better plants over all. |

| Well thanks for your replies, i guess my DESPERATION is over. I purchased some jolene adams roses from burlington roses and its pretty much an exact duplicate. I still would like to one day try out Osiria, but i guess i will have to wait. Sorry for all my silly DESPERATENESS for certain roses. It's a curse of mine! |

| HomeDepot was selling Love. I was going to get it, but couldn't find a good plant. It looks just like this rose. |

| Being desperate for a certain rose isn't silly at all, lol. Everyone on this forum gets the gottahaveits from time to time, especially now that it's fall ordering time! Jolene Adams looks like a beautiful rose. You'll have to report back how it does for you so that we all have something new to lust over. :D |
RE: Osiria rose HELP!!!!!

| I think the only reason why OSIRIA stayed in commerce as long as it did is because of the strong fragrance, which tends to be lacking in similarly colored roses. If fragrance isn't important to you then there are better red & white reversed roses out there (like the classic Grandiflora LOVE). Image of LOVE by DiggerDave-4b/5a at Hortiplex.

| I actually own a love rose. The flowers are nice but they never turn out as good as this one, plus hardly any fragrance. But still a nice little beauty. It can be quite a vigorous grower. And yes, i will keep you guys posted on my jolene adams roses. I shall be making posts from time to time. |

| I'm glad you found the Jolene Adams rose. It looks lovely! I hope it proves to be even better than Osiria. In looking at it on HMF though I am confused. It says it's a "floribunda, mini-flora"? I can't believe it's in two very different classes and wonder what class it really is. Exhibiting minds want to know! |

| So relieved that bonsaimaster1's rather alarming obsession with 'Osiria' seems now to be dissipating. What a crappy rose 'Osiria' is. Anyone who thinks they will succeed in rooting a cutting of her should approach that task with trepidation, much experience and ideal conditions; anyone who thinks that an own-root plant of 'Osiria' will prove to be a good garden rose is delusional in the extreme (regardless of where s/he gardens); and anyone who expects even a grafted 'Osiria' to consistently produce (albeit at great intervals), apparently enjoys the advantage of being able to grow his/her prima donna roses under glass. Roses Unlimited once offered 'Osiria' for a relatively brief period of time (I think HMF still lists them as a source). Go to RU's website and visit the "Alphabetical List". Once there, one can still identify the blank space in the list that was once occupied by 'Osiria'. It's a rose that should never have been placed in commerce. Shame on Kordes. |

Bonsaimaster1: Your words came across very strong to me, but I’m sorry if my response was offensive. I just wanted you to be okay with the possibility that you might not get Osiria. But I do understand wanting a hard to find rose. As you know, there are many roses that disappear to make room for new varieties. Blue Bayou was replaced with “better” lavender roses, but the other roses don’t have the same fragrance or blueness. I was about ready to drive to Canada to get the miniature rose, Marriotta when another source presented itself. I also had the joy of obtaining a long awaited, Annie Laurie McDowell climbing rose and even had the honor of meeting the rose breeder, Kim Rupert. The search of a coveted rose is both rewarding and frustrating. Jolene Adams looks like a good rose. Wanting to help, I did a search on HMF for red roses with a white reverse and the Jolene Adams rose snuck by me because it is a miniflora. I still think that someday, a rose breeder will come up with a rose that looks like Osiria, but will be a better growing rose. Good luck in your quest :) |

| I'm not a fan of this rose, however I have a different opinion than jaxondel's. I think Jaxondel's opinion is valid to certain degrees. However, as long as gardeners know ahead of time that this rose is very difficult to take care of and are willing to put the effort to do it then I think this rose with its unique attributes should be kept in commerce. I prefer that the choice to grow this rose or not is because I don't want to put up with its difficulties and not because I couldn't find it anywhere. There are so many beautiful roses that I wish I had a chance to grow them but couldn't because they are no longer in commerce... |

| I understand your feelings, bayarea girl, but you have to understand the nurseries too. If they sell a rose that people continually return or complain about they aren't going to stock that rose for long. They really can't afford to. With the way we're losing nurseries right and left I wouldn't want them to. I want them to make money so they WILL stay in business. I've heard nothing but bad reviews about Osiria from the day it came out. I'm sure the nurseries have too and that is why they no longer carry it. Of course that doesn't explain why Snowfire, a similar rose, is still in commerce. I was tempted at first to list it as another replacement option but thought better of it. It was the most disease riddled and thorniest beast I ever had in my garden, even though when it did deign to bloom they were quite lovely. It's like Angel Face. The bloom is so pretty and smells so good but the rose bush is LOUSY! I never recommend it to anyone. Jamine, are you sure that Jolene Adams is a miniflora? Where did you find that info? |
RE: Osiria rose HELP!!!!!

Seil: Help Me Find Roses lists Jolene Adams as a Foribunda, mini-flora. The blooms in the photographs look smaller to me, but I don't grow the rose, so I don't know for certain. It looks like it has a nice form. |

Jasminerose4u: Your reply to my post was in my opinion a little alarming. I felt I was being seen as a crazy person obsessed with the idea that this rose is the only thing that holds dear to my heart and kept me sane in which I will do almost anything to attain it. But on the contrary I do love this rose, but if it really is that difficult to grow and maintain then I will be sure to disregard its appealing and most beautiful facade. I did kind of take it the wrong way and CAPPED my words to get my point across. I am sorry I came on too strong about this rose, but nothing wrong with a little wants here and there. I am also sorry we got off to the wrong foot. Please understand I only started this post to see if it was possible to get my hands on this mysterious beauty, not to start text wars or metaphorical obsessions. Please forgive my actions as I have already regarded you as a resourceful friend in this grand forum! |

| FYI, Jolene Adams is officially classed as a miniflora. |
