Help with ID

This will be my first attempt at posting a photo, I hope it works! This rose is a mismarked body bag (supposed to be Blue Girl) and it is a perfect rose! The flowers are 6" across and it smells exquisite! Any thoughts? Thanks!

My first guess would be Memorial Day.

Thanks Seil, I thought it may be also until I saw Memorial Day at the nursery that was much more a washed out and dull pink than this one, frillier too..... still very possible.

T-bred, I agree that it doesn't look like Memorial Day. My MD has way fewer petals and a different color. I like your rose much better. If you find out what it is, I'm growing it--it's gorgeous! Diane

I think it looks exactly like Memorial Day. I have both BG and MD.

Whatever it is, I love it! Several sources show MD only hardy to z7 and here I am in 5b, it is in a pot so will overwinter in shed. How has yours fared through the winter Flaurabunda?

MD is definitely hardy to zone 6 at least because mine is about 6 years old now. And mine sometimes has really frilly petal edges and sometimes doesn't and the color varies from a pretty bright candy pink to a sort of dusty pink depending on weather and amount of sun it gets. I still say it looks like MD.

Mine's out in the open, away from the house, and own-root. It did just fine; did not die all the way back to the ground and it's getting quite tall all the sudden. I can't wait for it to get a little beefier so that I'll have more than just a couple of blooms at a time.

The scent is awesome. In the heat it turns that bright candy pink and when it cools off you'll see more of the "Orchid Pink" it's described to have.

Hmmmm, so that's where that awful bright pink came from, plus the blooms on my MD have only had a few petals during the summer heat. It's starting to cool down now, so maybe it will get with the program, and look a little more like this photo. I've been very disappointed with this rose so far, but I've got to give it another year. It's already big and vigorous, but hasn't done much blooming. I really want it to look like this one! Diane
