What is Rose Orach?

Posted by CandleCreekFarm Arkansas (My Page) on

I recently saw a dried plant called Rose Orach on an online dried flower wholesaler. The Pretty Pink dried material looked like something I would want to use in a flower arrangement but when I did a search online, the things I saw didn't look anything like the picture. So my question is...What is Rose Orach? Or, is what I saw something totally different. Can anyone tell me what the plant material is in the photo I have posted? Thank You

well I eat it. I know it as atriplex and we grow it on the allotment as a nice red leaved ornamental which can be eaten when the leaves are young. From the same family as fat hen and good king henry - chenopodiums, I think. Although we do eat it, it is not really that thrillsome (my chickens were mad for it though). Super easy as an annual from seed.
