I'm looking for a good rose for a tall hedge. I want it to be at least 5 foot tall. I havent really settled on a color but I was wondering if any of the striped roses make good hedges? I dont have much experience with them but was willing to give them a shot. Any suggestions though for a tall narrow area with striking blooms and repeat blooming would be great! I'm not really a fan of R. rugosa or Rugosa alba to be honest so was looking for a different option..

Here, I have the perfect one for you--David Austin's shrub Hyde Hall. Makes a wonderful hedge a bit over 5 ft tall and is very disease resistant. See the link below. Kate

If you don't mind an OGR, Mme Antoine Mari makes a wonderful hedge, about 6' tall and wide. It's an old tea rose. Antique Rose Emporium used to have a hedge of them in front of a 2 story house on their property, and it was quite large. I keep mine pruned to about 6' or so, though.

Oh my goodness, kitty, you need to post more photos. First your mouthwatering Radox Bouquet, and now this exquisite Kathryn Morley. I thought I'd quelled my urge to get a Radox, but my resistance is fading fast. Gorgeous photos. Diane

I was a bit shy to post pictures but my sister keeps saying I should share what's going on here. I love Kathryn. It's one of the prettiest roses I grow. You have to be so generous with food and water and make the soil just right. I know this rose likes cooler weather than I have but I feel so lucky every time I get some flowers from my two plants. She's a big lady and I have to tie her to the support to protect her from winds. If I had a ranch or a farm, I'd grow a great long row of K M

We planted a Hyde Hall hedge this year and assuming it's as cold hardy as DA advertises, I'll call it one of my best a favorite plants. We put in a dozen bare-root plants and have had non-stop bloom since June. BS a big problem for me and these plants are barely affected. Di

I think, first, we need to know where you are located. In our area, for instance, Kathryn Morely was a big, graceful plant, whose few blooms were lovely. But she bloomed so sparsely that she finally left us. USDA Zone is helpful, but actual location is far more pertinent. Jeri
