| I saw a new edition of the Ecyclopedia of Roses, by Charles and Brigid Quest-Ritson, at B&N this afternoon.
It seems to be bigger than the 2003 edition, but I found no indication that very much new has been added. Nothing in the jacket blurb or introduction. Amazon website quotes someone saying it has been issued in a new format?? Does anyone here know if new material, as in reviews of newer roses, or more roses, might have been added. I do very much like the 2003 edition. Q-R's opinionatedness makes it that much more interesting for me. |

| Lol, I just got the old one! |
| My old one is beginning to crack at the spine because I consulted it so much. I consider it, and Botanica's Roses the ultimate in rose porn. You get the gorgeous pix and some useful information. |
| My old one was falling apart too. So I was very interested when I saw this new edition. I searched the internet and finally found a review by someone who had actually seen it and they said that it was just a reprint of the old edition, no new material. Like Nastarana I really enjoy the Q-Rs opinionatedness and would love to read their opinions on some of the recently released roses. |
| It is the very best of the the major rose books. Checking the sources of the gardens used obviously for their input shows why it is much better than such as Botanica. Mine is worn out. I can see why comparing the old with the new would be difficult as the number of new roses is small in number. |

| jim, you are saying that the new edition does contain new material? I fear that if I take my old book to B&N to make a page by page comparison, I might be asked to leave. $40. at B&N and $30 at Amazon. |
