Knockout Rose Insect Questions

Hello
First time poster, longtime reader. I planted 5 knockout roses around the start of August. I'm in the foothills of NC. They all 5 were doing great but I noticed one yesterday that had lost all its leaves. I thought it had died but today I noticed green worms on it. Then I started checking the others when I realized these worms are on all 5 bushes. From reading on the forum, I'm guessing they are Sawflies. I've read a dozen different ways to get rid of them. Just wondering if an expert can ID these things as sawflies and let me know the best way to remedy this. Also, can the one that basically looks like a twig now be saved. It looks pretty rough.
