Weeks bareroots

When you place a 2013 order for a rose from Weeks, are you getting roses that have been produced by the old Weeks Co. or different growers? I saw Love Song offered in Witherspoon's catalog but wondered if it would be the same quality as my Twilight Zone from last year's Weeks supply.

Kitty, if it helps, when you buy a two year bare root, you're getting two years worth of roots and one year of top budded growth. The roses you'll buy in 2013 were budded this year, 2012, so no, they would not have been produced by the "old Week's". Kim

I think I'm going to have to bite out of curiosity. Will let everyone know what I got when it arrives. The Weeks introductions have been outstanding in my climate. I'm going to miss Mr. C's fabulous roses.

Kitty -- I agree. New things from Tom's work will be missed. But I betcha he's still hybridizing, even while he works to re-hab the rose gardens at the Huntington Botanical Garden.

Tom probably had a lot of things in the pipeline before he retired, so many of the roses that Weeks will introduce will still be his roses. However, I think the quality of the plants will never be as good as those sold by the old Weeks company.

Smiles,
Lyn
