Any guesses on this white with pink rose

This standard rose was given to us, it was missing the tag but came out of the same batch as the Elle, Iceberg and Julia Child standards.

They are big, thick petals-almost like crepe paper, held singly and not much scent that I can tell (but right now covered in fir tree pollen so my nose is not going near them)

When I planted it, I thought it was an Iceberg, but the first flush I thought it might be Elle, but this flush and it does not look like Elle at all.

Any guesses?

Could it be Moonstone?

Looks like 'Moonstone', and Weeks was selling that one as a standard, so that might be it. Great flower, horrific Ruster.

No, not Elle, much too pale even though Elle does pale out somewhat occasionally. Moonstone is a possibility but look at Falling In Love too. It looks a lot like mine.

I also say Moonstone because of the "crepe paper" leaves.

When I first planted it, I thought it was iceberg because of the spent white petals that were left on it, so I planted it in back with 2 other icebergs. Then spring flush and it balled-so tan with pink-obviously not iceberg, thought hmm Elle in a bad location? Those were the two that most of the standards were. All summer it fought the gopher so just a few buds.

But now, wow, incredible!

I think I will end up moving it away from the gopher zone when I move the two red/orange standards.

The flower petals are thick like crepe paper, the leaves are matte, but fairly thick also....and all of the standards were rusted badly when we got them. They were put in to look good to sell a flipped out, no concern about how they were planted or that they were in the shade all day. And left to thrive or die while in escrow.

I vote Moonstone.

Moonstone.....sometimes my Princess Grace looks like this and sometimes my Pierre de Ronsard does also.

99% sure that's Moonstone. It's hard to imagine that someone would make Moonstone into a standard, given its large heavy blooms. But I'm constantly amazed at what folks put out as a standard :-D

Thanks

It looks like a Disneyland Rose, a couple dozen of those big blooms on a green ball. Looks more fake than real. Not that I am complaining...lol

Tom Carruth said at a seminar I attended--when questioned about the appropriateness of selling tall-growing HT's as standards, he sighed and said, "We have to produce what sells. They sell."

I see his point.

I think in this case, it was a matter of the guy flipping the house working out a good end of the season deal and picking up what ever he could get cheap. There was no rhyme or reason to his beds and planting scheme other than how it will look for a fast sale. Had the standards been allowed to stay, you would have had to crab walk sideways past them to get to the front door. Pinks, peaches, whites, hot red-orange, all next to each other. The back bed has tall plants in front, short ones in the back. It was all about selling a cottage look in an old house.
