¿How does it bloom?: Solitary and in posies of up to 3-4 flowers in Autumn and up to 8-9 in spring (see pictures).

¿How many times does it flower?: Taking into account that the rose grows in a neighboring old garden I do not have the exact information, but it has a really abundant and long lasting blooming in spring and during the fall season.

Number of petals and shape: 36 petals.

RE: White Blend Rose ID (White Radiance???)

Hello Wesley! First of all THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your reply; I have posted this message in many forums of Garden Web, as well as other Rose Forums (the Spanish Forum Infojardín, Peter Beales Discussion Forum and several websites such as HMF and Ashdown Roses) but I have not received any appropiate identification yet. In fact I have been trying to identify this rose since last year. That is why I have many pictures and detailed information.
What I mean with "Bush Type" is that the rose grows and forms a dense bush, in reference to the growht habit of the plant but I think it may be a very primitive HT.
Some time ago this year, Bruna Talodini, a retired professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Italy who is pretty interested in roses and in their history, was trying to find some information on the firm Gaetano Bonfiglioli e figlio, a breeder/nursery who worked in Bologna (the town where he lives in Italy) in XIX-XX century. Among his production there are ´Variegata di Bologna´, ´Clementina Carbonieri´, ´Garisenda´ and other lost or almost lost roses. Going through papers at the Camera di Commercio of Bologna he managed to find the story of the firm and, interestingly, he found that it had commercial interests in South America, in particular in Argentina. From 1920 to 1937 Enrico Bonfiglioli and many of his staff went here many time.
So it may well be that, besides rose from french nurseries, in Argentina there might be also roses from Bonfiglioli, possibly lost roses of this firm (´Ricordo di Giosuè Carducci´, for example). So this could be another research line to take into account, but I am really confused and it has been many years and I still cannot identify it properly

Anyway, THANKS again for your time and interest and keep in touch!
Mariano

RE: White Blend Rose ID (White Radiance???)

I am only going to comfirm that you do infact have a very rare and very hard to find rose from the 1920's to 1940 time area on intro dates.
Lets try to get a closer look inside for 2010 how to do that is in your email. It isn't as primative as you think but Bruna Talodini was so darn close all he had to do was smell it hopefuly he'll soon be able to. Color it pretty and do whats right. I hold that idea as sacret here for emegancy use only someone would of wanted it that way< wink>
keep in touch too.
Wes
