To transplant or not to transplant

A couple of weeks ago I asked for advice on transplanting a potted rose to a bigger pot. I didn't get around to it, and now I am debating whether to go ahead with it. My rose isn't looking so great (something is eating it), and nighttime temperatures are in the mid 40s now. Is it safe to transplant it now, or am I putting my plant at risk? It definitely needs to go in a bigger pot, but is it better to wait till spring?

I don't know why that would harm it. Probably far better than keeping it in a too-small pot.

We have just potted up several things -- and have one more to go. I won't have ANY 1-G.

I would go ahead and do it now. In your zone I don't think it would be a big problem. Temps would have to get down to about 28 degrees for the rose to be damaged. If your roses don't go completely dormant during the winter than you should be able to re-pot it at any time. The biggest thing you need to do is keep the existing root ball intact when you transplant it. If you keep it intact and just move it into a bigger pot with more soil it should go on with out any problem.
