Planting several roses together?

My Louis Philippe rooted cuttings finally arrived, after being sent astray by the post office on their way here. I've been in a tizz the last several days wondering where they were. They are small but healthy. I was thinking of planting two together for a faster, fuller shrub. Thoughts?

It works very well however, you might want to pot one in case something goes wrong ( varmint ate the planted out one, etc.)

Keep in mind that Louis Phillipe is a relatively fast grower, and ONE plant can reach considerable size. I don't think what you're proposing is a problem, necessarily -- I just think it's not necessary, IYKWIM.

Here's an old Louis Phillipe, in a Northern CA cemetery. When this photo was made the plant was close to 6 ft. tall. Sadly, when I last saw it, they had chopped it back to one cane, about 3 ft. tall.

Wow that IS big!! I was hoping to have bushes a few feet tall and wide by next summer, August. Do you think this little cutting can do that Jeri?
I am sorry too they cut it down so much, it is a gorgeous plant in the picture.

That is an old bush (the more pity they're killing it) --- BUT our plant here is almost 5 ft tall, and a bit wider, after 5-6 years. And things grow relatively slowly here. Ours was grown from a band-sized plant.

LPs I started from cuttings that I rustled were over my head and almost as wide in about a year. I don't think you will find it necessary to group them for a nice big showy planting.

I decided to plant them singly but in groups, a couple LPs, then another plant, and so on. I've decided to put up a fence as well. I'm planning it now so by the time the LPs get big they can sort of weave into it.
