I know they are an exclusive Edmonds rose, but nurseries around here in Florida don't sell them. What mail order company has these?

That doesn't really tell me where to buy them. I have read about hit or miss quality from Edmonds roses, but I will take my chance, if I can find someone that sells these special 9/11 roses.

Roses Unlimited has Firefighter listed. These roses are own root. The 911 rose is called Quietness, also at RU. Do you need special fortunata rootstock due to nematodes? http://rosesunlimitedownroot.com/new_page_20.htm
Here is a link that might be useful: Firefighter hybrid tea

Yes in Florida the rootstock needed is Fortuniana.

sorry about that pkap I had found some resorces just after posting and it wouldnt let me post twice in a row heres a second link that may help find ALL 9- 11 roses http://www.remember-me-rose.org/wheretoget.asp Bailey nurseries best of luck (also see ping) Edmunds Roses does online sales has new owners under same name Roses by Ping will be hard to locate Help Me Find . com can help you locate as well Weeks roses youll need to use there locator feature to find a dealer in your area Suggest you call ahead to your garden center(s) and preorder if not avalable for a season pick up A second suggestion is to look in Weeks roses for more than 1 rose for 9-11 Enjoy the site too theres alot of information on how its going as well |

If you need them on fort rootstock, then contact Cool Roses (info@coolroses.com), they aren't listed on the web, but they may have them or plan to have them.

The Rose Man Nursery carries Firefighter & Forty Heroes. They also carry a good selection from Bailey's (a lot of Easy Elegance) so they might have the Remember Me series. www.therosemannursery.com
RE: Who sells those 9/11 roses like Patriot and Firefighter?

Thanks everyone. I am surprised there is no one grower that carries all of the REMEMBER ME ROSES. This is going to be tricky to buy them all buy have to pay separate shipping charges for each if I have to go mail order (which I don't) since you don't get to pick the quality of the plant plus there in no guarantee my rose coming from Baileys (which is located in Oregon) will come on Fortuniana, I'm almost willing to bet 100% it won't.
RE: Who sells those 9/11 roses like Patriot and Firefighter?

I won't swear to it, but I think Bailey's does everything own-root. I know their Easy Elegance is all own-root & I'm almost positive that the Forty Heroes I bought was own-root. Bailey's is also releasing 2 new roses in the Remember Me series for 2010, The Finest & Patriots Dream.

Roses here in Fla. must be on Fort if you want them to thrive, and Nelson's in Apopka and Cool Roses in W. Palm do the grafting, Cool Roses does not sell thru' a Nursery you have to call them and they will deliver to you, and Fla. is not that expensive for shipping, compared to someplace out of State...... sally

Man do I miss MerryGro. Why can't everyone be like them. I can see this is going to be a hassle now having to contact a grower to ship me something a nursery should have in stock.

http://www.weeksroses.com/rose_firefighter.htm http://www.weeksroses.com/rose_we_salute_you.htm http://www.weeksroses.com/rose_soaring_spirits.htm http://www.weeksroses.com/zipsearch.php use the last link first at least this is three of em call ahead and ask them if they have the selections you want take the drive In my opinion ( I am sure some will agree as fact) You'll be doing the roses and yourself a better favor by getting proper root stock I wont be the only one to tell you " your just wasting your money, time, efforts and material on imporper root stock." It would be the same as me wanting 11 two zones away zone 8-12 rose shrubs there are jsut things I have no bussiness even attempting I do respect your sence of pride but as indicated you are setting yourself up to fail This very possible failure result is not what the 9 -11 roses are about I think you would do better making compromisies with flower colors and type
RE: Who sells those 9/11 roses like Patriot and Firefighter?

Not sure a 100+ mile drive for 3 9-11 roses is worth it. If they had the entire collection of 6 roses I'd consider it.
RE: Who sells those 9/11 roses like Patriot and Firefighter?

J & P now sells fortuniana rootstock for southern states. They don't have Firefighter, but do have Veterans Honor which is similar and also a red Hybrid Tea. Not as fragrant as Firefighter but, does have fragrance.
