| Rose should be heat tolerant and disease resistant. I've thought of Queen Eilzabeth, which I have grown, but it seems a bit big and vigorous. Belinda's Dream is highly rated, but it is a shrub rose, and I prefer a more typical hybrid tea structure. Any suggestions?

| For size, disease resistance, repeat, flower size and FRAGRANCE, it's difficult to beat Memorial Day in these parts, Bob. You are sure to get many suggestions and most will work well. Good luck! Kim |

| Bewitched, AND it lasts virtually a week in a vase.

| I don't live in Cal, but I'm still going to recommend Frederic Mistral. You can't beat its gorgeous scent, the blooms are beautiful and fairly long stemmed, and they last a long time in the vase. Diane |

| When I grew Belinda's Dream, some of the stems were fairly long, made a beautiful cut rose. |

| 'Bewitched' is extremely reliable. With pink you have hundreds of good choices. If you like huge, 'First Prize' is a great producer, and the flowers are enormous. Tough plant, too. |

For a nice pink rose for cutting with a managable height (5 feet here), may I suggest Falling In Love. Sweetly fragrant, good disease resistance, very good cut flower. The only drawback are its thorns, which are mighty. At least they aren't like those little "gottchas" that some of the other roses have. You can see these. Very good rose...Maryl

| Jenn, is that only one rose in your picture or several planted together? Lou |

| Our Lady of Guadalupe blooms all the time and you can cut the clusters. No big long stems but each cluster will fill a vase.Johann Strauss is like that too but with more ruffles. Bewitched and Tiffany are nice shapes with long stems. Tiffy's got a bit of yellow at the bottom which adds to the beauty of the pink. I like it better than solid pink. Memorial Day is a bit ruffly and has a great fragrance. My very best pink for vases is Kordes' "Flamingo". That rose is made of steel and always has flowers. It has super thorny stems however. If you can live with a taller rose, get Frederick M. It makes more flowers than Bewitched and they smell better too. |

| Convince your wife that she needs a white Pope John Paul II to go with the pink. That rose is incredible! |

| TIFFANY is IMHO the best pink Hybrid Tea. Sinfully fragrant, long stems, elegant high centered bloom, good vase life, vigorous upright shrub and more disease resistant than your typical Hybrid Tea. Practically perfect in every way. |

Many good suggestions above. I agree with Tiffany for its intense and sweet fragrance and exquisite bud form, productivity and overall health. Belinda's Dream, too, seems more like a hybrid tea to me than a shrub, but I still like Tiffany better. For a really good "frosting-pink" rose, I agree with Bewitched or Memorial Day. But if you have the space, consider the icy-ink hybrid tea Bride's Dream. It is truly exceptional. A big, vigorous bush that will crank out loads of blooms, all on long cutting stems and all of them wonderful florist form blooms. Just mildly fragrant, but the blooms last well, and visitors will pay it many compliments. Mine has never minded the hot summer heat, either. Look it up on Helpmefind.com/roses and see what you think. |
