We recently moved from SoCA to N. Az. We brought along several roses purchased in pots last spring after cutting them back heavily for the move. I repotted them in mid Oct after they spent about two weeks as bare root plants, and they came back very nicely with new growth. I had planned to wait 'til Spring to plant them but since we're in a mild winter region with 6-8 more wks until the coldest part of winter (20s night, 40s/50s most days) I've wondered if it would be better to just plant them now so new roots will get a head start.

In those kinds of temps my roses keep growing, slowly of course, but they don't go dormant. If it's not going to get any colder I'd say go ahead and plant.

Since you already have them, I would go ahead and plant them. The ground will be warmer than the pots in coldest weather. Check the soil moisture every few weeks and water if needed,
