I had a bit of old manure left in a 5 gallon bucket so filled it with water. I am wondering if I could dilute this and water some roses with it this time of year. I am 2 hours from Houston and though it gets quite cold here sometimes, we are going through a warmer spell of 62 degrees today. Hate to throw it out - just wondering if I diluted it and poured it on some of the mature roses if it would hurt or help? Also, what about spraying for blackspot this time of year? I notice some of my young bands have some BS - can I mix up a diluted spray and use it on them or should I wait? These are young bands in gallon pots and I don't plan to cut them back.

You can spray anytime it's not freezing and it's a good idea because if you do get a warm spell, the blackspot spores can activate. Manure is slow release, so I don't think you can do any harm putting it down now.

Should I dilute the manure water even more? As in add a couple of cupfuls to a gallon of water or just use it "straight"?
