Looking for, to buy???

In 5a, you could grow the old Gallicas, which include some of the deepest, richest purples. They are not remontant, but have a good, long spring bloom, and stand up to cold winters.

A couple of deep purple moderns: Twilight Zone, Burgundy Iceberg, Diamond Eyes, Midnight Blue or Ebb Tide

OGRs that come to mind: The Bishop, Alice Vena, Bleu Magenta (gets big), Cardinal de Richelieu, Souv du Docteur Jamain

I would suggest Orpheline de Julliet, and Tuscany Superb, they are both ogr gallicas, I don't grow either of them but they are both beautiful dark colors, I am recieving a band of Orpheline de Julliet in the spring, hoping it will grow well here. I wish you luck with your search, and I agree with Souv du Docteur Jamain as well, I'm trying it as well this spring even though it's not the best for my climate but a beautiful rose I atleast had to try, Happy rose hunting!

I grow a number of roses that I like that are dark purple: Ebb Tide, Twilight Zone, Melody Perfumee, Wild Blue Yonder, Night Owl, and The Prince. If I could chose only one in this group, it would be The Prince. I know that many struggle with this rose, but gets 3-4 feet tall in my garden and can have flowers that are a deep shade of purple. I have also grown Stephen's Big Purple, but this rose is more of a magenta that a true purple.
