So I am trying to cut down my 62 rose wish list and need to know whether I need Grand Dame, Electron, and Buxom Beauty or if I could cut one or two of them out as they all appear the same color based on photos? Thus - I need to know which one is the best at blackspot resistance, fragrance, and reblooming capability. I am leaning toward Buxom Beauty as the flowers are larger and they were bred by Kordes which I associate with better disease resistance (although it might not be the case with this one) however I have not seen any of these in person and thus am unable to make a decision. I would get these on Dr. Huey rootstock. Which one would you get?

Electron has been around for a few years for a good reason. Check it out on HMF. Several bush photo's. Huge blooms held up on strong stems with beautiful foliage. It also says it has a great scent. I know I have a pink (Falling in Love) that I'm not to wild about that just might get the axe next summer. If it goes, Electron will be taking it's place.

Buxom Beauty (Parole) is very fragrant, with huge blooms, but for PA, I would get it on R. multiflora rootstock, if possible. My best hot pink HT is Hot Princess (not much fragrance though).

Looked up the nodding on Grand Dame and it definitely does so it is between Electron and Buxom Beauty, or both which will probably happen. Diane, I completely agree with your multiflora suggestion. Unfortunately with Pickering down, my only other choice for multiflora is Palatine and they don't have Electron but might still have Buxom Beauty by the time I order. Hopefully Dr. Huey doesn't do too horribly here over the winter, despite our acidic clay soil. We shall see.

I have a Electron in my garden here in Texas and I love it. The Pink color glows like a neon light. jack
