| It has been cold, humid and rainy. Blackspot everywhere, and roses are not very willing to open... Still.

| Masha So beautiful! I shall live for the day my Rosette DeL. looks anything like yours. LOVE her colors and mine is near the front door opposite (new) Abraham Darby but so small yet. And now desire Crown Pr. Margareta greatly due to you. What is the last bird? A sapsucker? I admire your photography (as a retired professional photographer). Denise |
| Denise, Thank you. Compliments from a professional photographer are greatly appreciated! The bird is a hummingbird - our extended family member. They are very territorial, and this one has adopted us and lets me get quite close. Crown Princess Margareta is huge. It is gorgeous in spring, but doing not much the rest of the year:(. Quite a few Austins do not have good rebloom here. |

| Oh, how delectable is your garden!! After seeing your Souvenir de Victor Hugo I am definitely going to find a place for him. Your Golden Celebration is a dream! Really they're all magnificent. I'd love to see some wide shots of your garden, but I'm sure I'd have to have smelling salts handy. Sherry |

| These are great photos. They would make anyone fall in love with OGRs. I have always liked Delizy and I have never seen the Baron before--what a beauty. |
| Sherry, you want to see all the weeds and undeadheaded blooms clinging to the bushes? I can understand why you would need smelling salts.... Maybe in another couple of years I will save enough to buy a wide-angle lens, and then maybe I will get some decent whole garden shots :). Thank you for your compliments. Thank you, rootygirl. The Baron is big and mildewy and not too willing to rebloom, but the blooms are one of a kind. |
| Wow wow wow! Each rose prettier than the last. CPM is so wonderful. I put in a tiny gallon of that from RU last year, April of 2010. Not one flower yet, but it's putting out tons of growth and buds all over now. It's a beautifully shaped plant and I love the foliage. Your combination with Golden Celebration is stunning. You're a fantastic photographer - love the little hummer. Rosette Delizy must be one of the great teas of all time. Gets huge here, blooms a ton, no real thorns, fruity fragrance and great in a vase. What more could you ask for? |
| Thank you, Jerome. I agree about Rosette Delizy, I love the warm colors, and the generosity of bloom. There is nothing more you could ask of it... |
| These are FANTASTIC pictures, Masha! Souvenir de Victor Hugo is a stunner, a rose I've never seen before. The last picture, of the hummer, is exquisite, as is Mme. Caroline Testout. They're all gorgeous. Thank you. |
| Thank you, Ingrid, for your compliments. Souvenir de Victor Hugo is thornless (so far) and the blooms have a strong tea fragrance. No mildew so far either, a really nice rose. |
| Masha, are Rosette Delizy and Souvenir de Victor Hugo a lot alike? How are they, compared in growth and flower? |
| Jerome, my RD is a little narrow for a tea, while SdeVH is more spreading. SdeVH has no prickles that I have seen. It gets a bit of mildew in spring while RD is perfectly clean. SdeVH's flowers have a stronger tea fragrance to my nose and are much more muted in color. Here is a not very good picture of the blooms together. |
| Masha - you have done exactly what I wanted: enabled me into getting SdVH. Thank you! :-) And thanks for that photo - very beautiful and thoughtful of you. |
| You have a beautiful collection of roses. (I'm looking forward to seeing my Comtesse de Provence in bloom this year!) The hummingbird pic is delightful. |

| I'm SPEECHLESS and envious---Oh how I wish I were about 20 years younger and didn't have plates and screws in my back---- Your roses and photography are amazing-- Florence |
| Jerome, I am glad I enabled you :) Thank you, Krista, and enjoy your CdeP blooms! Thank you, Florence, and you have nothing to be envious about - I saw pictures of your garden on another thread - it is I who am green with envy! Masha |

| Awesome ! I kept scrolling up and down , up and down.. and I know I will do that many more times. Thank you for sharing. I have a question on your RD. How big does it get? I read that it does not get too big, mabe about 4 ft tall but from what I see I have a feeling its bigger than that. |

| Oh Masha! What a great service you offer us here at the OGR Forum. Your photography is absolutely stunning! I have taken the bait, will be purchasing Rosette Delizy this year! Can't stand not having this rose now that I've seen what she has done in your garden. Absolutely beautiful coloring! Thanks so much for sharing! I am forever grateful for your contribution to this gallery. Audrey |
| Thank you, ibheri and Audrey. ibheri, RD is probably around 5' tall, and pretty narrow, not the biggest of teas. Masha |
