She's really coming into her own this year. Got the soil issues taken care of. Love her!

Big AND beautiful. Your specimen looks extremely happy. One of the most truly purple roses and yours is outstanding.

Lovely rose----I have a few buds on my young baby----can't wait to see a bloom in person--

What were the soil issues you mentioned ??----I want to keep this baby happy---

Thanks everybody. This year's display was worth the wait. This is her 3rd year.

Florence, our clay soil here is on the alkaline side, so she struggled with chlorosis. I added some Espoma soil acidifier and she's been fine ever since.

Eric, mine is in the third year also. Did you get yours from ARE? My clay is also alkaline and yours looks much better than mine. I have the Espoma Garden Sulfur. Will that do?

Thanks.

 o
RE: Reine des Violettes

Yes, I got mine from ARE. I think that the Espoma sulfur would work fine.

I'm so glad you mentioned the soil issues. I have clay soil and have noted that the beauty I expected from Madame Isaac Pereire was marred by the light green foliage. It just did not provide a good backdrop to the blooms. I'll have to get some of the soil acidifier you mentioned.
I also have just purchased RdV this year, and I want mine to look half as good as yours! Thanks for posting such beauty!

I had this rose up north and I loved it. I won a Dowager Queen with it too. I don't have room for it here, tho. :-/
