Oops left my favorite shot out.

Those are stupendous shots. Mine is already almost white from the heat and the color on yours is so satisfying. Your first picture is my favorite but they're all beautiful.

Oh, you are sooooo lucky! Your SDLM is beautiful...no balling this year? You must have magic :)

Beautiful bush shot, but my favorite is the third pic...so magical with the morning light.

Thanks for sharing!

Gorgeous, Labrea. Personally, I like #1 best and #2 but #4 is pretty amazing! Can't wait for my bushes to get big enough so they can hold up their flowers like yours.

I see that THE QUEEN OF BEAUTY & FRAGRANCE is strutting her stuff again. IMHO, SdlM is a classic OGR that belongs in nearly every garden. Decent disease resistance, reliable repeat bloom, perfectly formed blossoms, large flower size, strong stems, delicious fragrance; all on a petite, graceful shrub. For those concerned about the fade to white issue - she holds her color better if you can provide her with some afternoon shade. Either that or cut the blooms early. They hold their color very well in a vase. If balling is a problem try blowing on the buds.

Joe, your Souvenir de la Malmaison shots are to die for. My favorites are the first and the second pic. I so love this rose!

I ordered one own root SdlM last year and it is such a fungi mess: powdery mildew and even downy mildew. The moment it makes new leave the fungi get them and shortly after they look ugly and mostly drop of. I am afraid that in my climate I am not able to grow this rose, at least not with out spraying :-(, so sad... Therefore I even more enjoy looking at your photos of this truly magnificent rose.

Thanks for posting!

When I saw your 2nd picture my first thought was "rose heaven", and your favorite shot somehow reminds me of an angel. You are blessed with roses!
