Long View of my garden

My garden is nearly at peak bloom and I took a couple pictures yesterday before the rain smashed everything.

Here's a long view of my main rose garden:

A mix of Austins and foxgloves by my house: (Munstead Woods to right, William Shakespeare 2000 on left)

Munstead wood is certainly on the wish list

I love the green background to the roses, something I certainly don't have. Also really like the combination of roses and foxgloves. Munstead Wood is a wonderful-looking purple rose.

Very pretty. Love WS 2000, such a rich color.

Munstead Woods looks great! I reserved 2 in August at Pickering and the owner said he didn't consider this a good plant and I didn't get it. Next year I will insist on getting it. I love the color. Fragrance - is it just as good as the plant suggests it?

Lori your garden looks beautiful.

Lori, your garden is lush and park-like. Very serene is the impression I get. I can almost visualize Mary Poppins and Burt taking a stroll in it.

What are the differences your finding in William Shakespeare and Munstead Wood? They seem kind of similar, both stunning. Which one smells better? I am bound to get one or the other and would like to have your opinion.

Thanks for your comments.

Munstead Woods has a good fragrance to my nose -- pure old rose. It is slightly darker/more purple than WS2000 and the fragrance is sweeter. This is only the second year in my garden so I haven't observed it for long, but so far it's healthy.

Great pics, I especially like the pic of the two red roses together. I love the color! The blooms are so sumptuous.

Your garden is lovely---Love Munstead Woods--

Your neighbors with the deck have a ringside seat for all that beauty--

You've done a tremendous job with that garden, elf. I know how much work you've put into it, with little help. Your efforts are an inspiration, and are really showing through now.

I hope the rest of the summer is peaceful and beautiful for you!

Ahhh- green. The roses look so striking against your beautiful grass and trees. I love your fences too.

Thanks for all your kind comments! My garden is a lot of work, but it's a labor of love. I think of it as my artwork.

Lori,
Your garden is much how I would do mine.... only with less grass. :)

At the moment, DW has placed a moratorium on new flower beds... otherwise there wouldn't be a blade of Fescue in sight.

Very Beautiful and an obvious labor of love in art. :)
