| I'm taking pictures like mad and end up discarding many of them since I've picked the wrong time of the day, wrong weather or less than optimal viewpoints in many of them. I hope these snapshots will nevertheless be enjoyable to some.

Your roses are all so lovely---great photography----I especially like Mme. Cornelissen-----it looks so fragile and delicate. You garden under difficult conditions but you seem to have the found the trick because your gardens are lovely. Florence

Lovely photos. The nice thing about digital, doesn't cost you any more if you take 1 or 10.

Oh! Love it, Ingrid! Please tell me more about Lavender Mist...I'd like to add her to my 2011 Fall orders. Coloring looks superb! Like a mini Lavender Lassie. Audrey

Lavender Mist looks so cheerful and colorful. A great collection of blooms and pics, Ingrid.
|
I've had Lavender Mist (sometimes also called Sea Mist or Blue Mist) for less than two years but I think it's going to stay rather small, which is fine with me. So far it hasn't bloomed a great deal in the summer heat but it may improve with age. Right now it looks really cute. The flowers open almost immediately so the rose has these tiny "plates" all over the bush. I don't detect any scent, alas. Ingrid

Forgive me for not coming to the gallery. Seeing these wonderful pjotos in the morning is so inspiring instead of wasting my time reading the news. Thanks Ingrid.

Oops. Cottage Garden is the wrong name, it's really Cottage Rose, an Austin. Renee, every Southern California garden must have cypresses. It's an iron-clad rule! I planted these two to flank the top of the driveway and am amazed how quickly they've grown from small nursery pots. Pam, I was so very touched by your comment. Thank you. Ingrid Ingrid

|
I love all your roses. Your garden is like Heaven on Earth. Just seeing these pictures I feel happier and really excited! Also I can learn from you, that is why I say thank you for showing this exuberance of colors and beauty, I can only dream of it.

Thank you from the heart for all your wonderfully kind and complimentary comments. I feel privileged to share my garden with you who so obviously appreciate it. It helps me to see it through your eyes. bgrose, I'm so glad my garden brings out these feelings in you. I've learned so much from seeing pictures of others' gardens and feel honored that you feel some inspiration from mine. If you're interested, I have a thread on the Rose Forum discussion area titled "Roses in the House, and in the Garden". Sometimes I like to post there in the hope that modern-rose gardeners will feel inspired to give some of the older roses a try. Ingrid

Thanks, Ingrid, for referring me to the other thread. I am interested so I will definitely read the discussion there. I think old roses are more beautiful and charming than modern roses.

It's beautiful! I like the rocks too. Linda

I need madame Cornelissen what a beautiful collection of roses

Thank you erasmus and la brea. La brea, since you have other sports of SdlM, I agree you need this one. It's beautiful and different, and for me a constant bloomer. Ingrid
