This is Lucille, a tea rose, that is said to stay small. I'm very impressed with the foliage and love this first bloom.

lovley! I will have to add this one to my collection! Do you have any problems with mildew? I will be living in a humid area and want to make sure I don't end up with roses that ruin from mildew....

What a beautiful little rose! This is a tea I've never heard of. Can you please tell me where you bought it? How large does it become? It's always so exciting to see the first bloom of a new rose.

Vintage, I've only had this rose since this spring and haven't seen a speck of mildew or black spot (my nemesis) so far. We do get powdery mildew here so I'm thinking (and hoping) she'll stay clean of pw and maybe even BS.

Ingrid, I had never heard of Lucille either. I got it from Long Ago Roses in North Carolina. Linda, the owner, said her plant is only about 2 feet tall.

Speaking of excited, I was able to post this picture of Lucille on HMF yesterday--the only one up there. Makes me feel like I'm becoming a real rosarian.
